In March 2024, Dr Matteo Vannacci (University of the Basque Country, Bilbao) visited the University of Lincoln’s Charlotte Scott Research Centre for Algebra. He gave a talk at the Lincoln Algebra seminar on 20 March. Dr Vannacci is one of the world’s experts on hereditarily just infinite groups. He was visiting Lincoln to work with two academics from the Charlotte Scott Research Centre for Algebra: Assoc. Prof. Simon Smith and Dr Ged Corob Cook.

Dr Vannacci’s visit was paid for using Dr Simon Smith’s EPSRC grant.
